Back-to-School Night |
Back-to-School
Night is an annual event held within the first month of school.
School administrators and staff are introduced to parents and
parents have an opportunity to visit each of their student’s
classes for a brief introduction to the teacher and an overview
of course content. |
|
Mid-Year Check-Up |
Mid-Year Check-Up is an annual meeting in
which parents, students and administrators check-in to review
the status of the academic and social progress of students and
the school. Data regarding HSA’s, student quarterly progress in
access courses (Algebra 1, Geometry, English 2, and Biology),
and attendance and suspension is used to suggest continued
directions and actions for the remaining semesters. An emphasis
is placed on describing resources available to assist students
at all levels including AP, Honors, Regular, and Seminar course
levels. |
|
After Prom Party |
The After Prom Party was reinstated as an
annual event in 2005. It is designed to provide students with a
safe environment to continue the fun and festivities of the
Prom. Activities have included bowling, a DJ, vendors, game
room with pool table and drawings for prizes. In 2006, the
grand prize was a television set. Each year the festivities and
prizes are expanded. |

Parents of the Reach |
Parents of the REACH (PR) is a newly
revived parent volunteer program sponsored by the LRHS PTSA.
Parent volunteers assist with hall monitoring, greeting visitors
in the main office, and helping students and staff in the
guidance office as well as the main office. Since the first day
of school, PR has maintained a presence in the school between
7:15 and 8:20 AM. Our ultimate goal is to have parents present
to help maintain an atmosphere of order and respect throughout
the day through the school day. |
